Devlin DeFrancesco scored a top-five finish in round 11 of the Indy Lights Championship presented by Cooper Tires at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

In a race devoid of passing opportunities today, the 21-year-old Miami-based Italian-Canadian pressured rival Linus Lundqvist throughout the 35-lap journey but could not find a way past.

Round 12 of the championship will line on the grid on Sunday with DeFrancesco again starting from the third row in P5.

This weekend’s action can be seen on NBC’s Peacock service; on REVTV in Canada; and on’s YouTube channel in all other international markets.

“Tricky day for us. The race pace was quite strong, but when you’re stuck in the dirty air there isn’t much you can do.

“I pushed until the end and saved some push-to-passes to the end, but it’s extremely hard to follow.

“I think it’s going to be a first lap attack tomorrow and you’re going to make or lose ground there, so that’s going to be where you can do it.”
