Devlin DeFrancesco’s day at Portland International Raceway came unstuck with an electrical problem striking the 21-year-old’s Andretti Steinbrenner Autosport Indy Lights machine.
The Italian-Canadian racer had to make two visits to pitlane before the green flag and eventually joined the race three laps down.
He will now have the chance to bounce back tomorrow in round 16 of the Indy Lights presented by Cooper Tires at 10:30 AM Pacific time.
This weekend’s action can be seen on NBC’s Peacock service; on REVTV in Canada; and on The-Race.com’s YouTube channel in all other international markets.
DEVLIN DEFRANCESCO
“We had an electrical problem at the start of the race, and that put us several laps down.
“Obviously, that is very frustrating, but my guys at Andretti Steinbrenner Autosport jumped in and worked as hard as they could to get me back on track.
“The race really became a test session for me. I had a bit of oversteer that we’ll try to dial out for tomorrow, and fingers crossed, all our bad luck for this weekend is behind us, and we can finish strongly tomorrow.”
