• Fourth street race of the season for NTT INDYCAR SERIES
  • Andretti Steinbrenner rookie looking to continue strong qualifying progress

NASHVILLE, TN (Friday, July 28, 2022) – Devlin DeFrancesco has his sights set on repeating his recent Toronto INDYCAR qualifying form when the NTT INDYCAR SERIES heads to Nashville this weekend.

At his home race last month in Toronto, DeFrancesco graduated to the top 12 in qualifying for the first time and now aims to repeat that performance as the Andretti Steinbrenner Autosport rookie returns to street racing this weekend.

The Music City Grand Prix is the fourth street race on the championship calendar, following St. Petersburg, Long Beach and Toronto.

The race was run for the first time last year and runs adjacent to the home stadium for the NFL’s Tennessee Titans.

The 2.170-mile, 11-turn course features a 3,578-foot (1,091 m) straightaway across the Korean War Veterans Memorial Bridge, which spans the Cumberland River. The bridge layout makes the track the only one on the INDYCAR circuit and one of the few in the world to cross a significant body of water.

Andretti Autosport were fast here last year at the inaugural event with Colton Herta taking pole position, Herta, Alexander Rossi and Romain Grosjean all competing in the Firestone Fast Six and DeFrancesco’s Andretti Steinbrenner Autosport predecessor, mentor and fellow Canadian James Hinchcliffe on the podium in third.

Track action kicks off on Friday with the first practice session at 3:15 PM local time. Saturday morning’s practice two is at 11:15 AM with qualifying scheduled for 3:30 PM. The 80-lap Big Machine Music City Grand Prix goes green at 2:30 PM (Central time)
