Devlin Hungary for points as Formula 3 heads to Budapest

After a three-week break, that felt like an eternity, 19-year-old Devlin DeFrancesco is itching to get back in the car for this weekend’s round of the 2019 FIA Formula 3 Championship.

The Hungaroring will play host to round 5 of the championship – the last set of races before the summer break. Earning itself the title of ‘Monaco without the walls’, the 4.83km track offers up 13 challenging turns with very minimal overtaking opportunities making qualifying key.

Devlin is no stranger to the track, racing at the circuit several times throughout his junior career. After having to withdraw from the Hungarian round during last years GP3 series due to illness, Devlin is eager to get back and make up for the lost time.

The last round at Silverstone proved to be a tough weekend for Devlin, but one that he is determined to learn and bounce back from. The Hungaroring poses different challenges to Silverstone, but the Canadian-Italian knows the areas he’s strong in, and those where he can improve and has been working hard to fine-tune his craft.

With his race craft continuously strengthening from round to round, the resilient teenager has been agonisingly close to points on multiple races. Looking forward to the upcoming weekend Devlin commented:

“Budapest is a track I’ve been to a fair bit and a really fun place. It’s not the easiest track in the world to overtake on but it can be done! I’m looking forward to seeing what it brings - our race pace has been strong so I’m just really hoping to finally put everything together!”
