With only two rounds left of the 2018 GP3 Series season remaining, MP Motorsport’s Devlin DeFrancesco is keen to maximise the remaining driving time, looking to end the year on a high with points to boot.
After just under a month’s break since Monza, Devlin heads to the Sochi Autodrom in Russia for the penultimate round of the GP3 Series. Eager to build on his strong weekend in Monza, in which the determined racer came agonisingly close to points involving himself in some thrilling on track battles.
With several tight bends over the 18 corner 5.848 km lap, Sochi offers an almost street-circuit feel and a new challenge for the Italian-Canadian driver. Having only driven the circuit on a simulator, Devlin will get his first taste of the Russian circuit when the field head out for Free Practice on Friday.
Eager to back on track and continue his upward trajectory Devlin commented:
‘Sochi looks like a cool place, track looks fun from the sim. Now it’s just a case of putting all our hard work into practice. It’s been a tough year but my head’s held high and we’re all trying to extract the maximum that we can from the final two rounds – I’m excited and ready to get back on track.’
