Tough day at the office. After making a brilliant start to leap into second place in the first turn, Devlin DeFrancesco spent most of round three of the Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires championship in that position before making contact with the wall at turn 13 with 13 laps to go.

Tomorrow the 21-year-old Miami-based Italian-Canadian racer will be looking to make amends when he starts from P3 again at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.

“It’s a pretty tough day in the office to be running second the whole race chasing down Kyle (Kirkwood) and having a really strong result for the team, but sometimes accidents happen. It’s unfortunate, but we look forward to bouncing back tomorrow.”
